WHAT IS THE EGG DIET – IS IT SAFE?

Finding ways to lose weight is something people have been doing for decades. A new diet that has just come out is the egg diet. Below, AgroWeb.org explains for you what this diet is, what foods you can enjoy when you follow it, and whether it’s worth trying.

What is the egg diet?
Unlike many diets that have set rules about what you should and shouldn’t eat, the egg diet is not a formal plan and has many versions, with some versions being more restrictive than others. But regardless of which one you follow, this way of eating requires you to consume at least one egg a day.

When following this diet, highly processed foods and no high-calorie drinks are allowed. Since there is no standard version of the egg diet, a list of “allowed” foods (except eggs) is impossible to provide.

For those who follow the “eggs only” version, the only food allowed is eggs. But for those who don’t follow this restrictive version, there are some foods that can also be consumed, such as:

Eggs (at least once a day)
Drink without calories
Lean meat
Non-starchy vegetables
Low carb fruits
Vegetable fats and oils
vegetable
seasoning
In short, this diet does not allow foods with added sugar, grains, starchy foods, high-carbohydrate fruits, and highly processed foods.

Is it safe?
Like all diets, it has its pros and cons. Here are some pros and cons of following this egg-focused diet.

Advantages
The most important advantage can be said to be the encouragement around the consumption of eggs which are very rich in nutrients.

Eggs are a versatile food, a source of many important nutrients, including protein, healthy fats, vitamin B12, choline and vitamin D.
